Edward Batten has been handling lawsuits in Texas for over twenty-five years. His
primary litigation focus has been complex property damage, commercial litigation,
construction defect, trucking accidents, products liability, premises liability, general
negligence, personal injury, and wrongful death matters. Mr. Batten has worked with
corporate and business clients both in the United States and abroad, leveraging those
experiences to better understand client needs and to deliver targeted results. He has
served as lead counsel for clients in both state and federal courts in cases across Texas
and throughout the United States. Mr. Batten thoroughly analyzes the details of each
case and then employs one or more of the most effective methods of dispute resolution,
whether the case requires arbitration, negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Admitted:
Mr. Batten was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1999. Further, he has also been
admitted to practice in U.S. Federal Court, both in the U.S. District Court of Texas,
Southern District, and in the U.S. District Court of Texas, Eastern District.

After serving in the Navy as a Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy, Mr.
Batten obtained a degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia in 1996 (dean’s

the University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Batten participated in the school’s Advanced
Civil Litigation program and wrote an editorial article for the Daily Texan, the school's

Mr. Batten is a fencing enthusiast who finished 2nd in the State of Maryland in Men’s
